Job summary

Adecco Portugal is seeking an experienced QA Engineering Lead in Wembley to build an automation-first quality function within a growing tech team. You will shape testing strategy, embed QA into the SDLC, and drive reliable software deliveries while exploring AI-powered testing technologies.

You will lead defining QA governance, establish automation frameworks, and coach engineers to raise quality standards across projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in QA, Software Testing, or Quality Engineering roles.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks in complex environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with tools such as Playwright, Selenium, REST Assured, Postman, or similar.
• Development experience using Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience testing APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and automated quality gates.
• Experience defining testing strategies and quality standards.
• An interest in, or experience with, AI-assisted testing technologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement QA strategy, standards, and governance.
• Establish automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Embed automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and release processes.
• Evaluate and leverage AI-driven testing tools and approaches.
• Define quality metrics and report on release readiness and testing effectiveness.
• Support shift-left testing practices and improve overall testability.
• Coach and mentor team members on quality engineering best practices.
• Build and evolve QA capability as the function grows.
