Waracle are looking for a Mid Level QA Engineer to join our world-class digital technology consultancy. The role features a hybrid setup with collaboration in person 2 days a week from Glasgow or Dundee.

You will design and run thoughtful test journeys, build automation, and help maintain system health across projects. You will collaborate across teams, work with modern web automation (Playwright), and contribute to onboarding and QA process improvements while delivering high-quality digital

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with C# or TypeScript for web testing.
• Experience using Playwright for modern web automation.
• Strong understanding of Agile/SDLC and functional/non-functional testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and run tests independently using product personas and risk-based thinking.
• Build and maintain regression automation packs and integrate into CI pipelines.

As a QA Engineer at Waracle, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and care behind the digital products we build. Operating at an independent, impactful level, you will design and run thoughtful test journeys based on project requirements. If you enjoy collaborating across teams, building out automated testing frameworks, and helping welcome and support new team members, you will thrive in this role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• User-Centric Test Design: Design and run tests independently, using product personas to guide user journeys and thoughtfully assessing the risk of code and configuration changes.
• Automation Engineering: Build and maintain regression automation packs, integrating them into CI pipelines to ensure our teams receive swift, helpful feedback.
• System Observability: Dive into logs and dashboards to investigate issues and proactively validate system health throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Non-Functional Testing (NFR): Execute scripted and manual tests across crucial areas including Security, Performance, and Accessibility using industry-standard tools.
• Inclusive Communication: Provide clear, concise status updates in stand-ups and bridge the gap by explaining complex QA issues in warm, accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.
• Process Care & Improvement: Suggest and implement local process enhancements, evaluating new tools or techniques that can help the team work smarter and more efficiently.
• Team Collaboration: Manage your own tasks independently while warmly supporting the onboarding of new team members into the squad’s QA workflows.

• Skilled in modern web automation frameworks (such as Playwright), with a strong ability to write clean code, maintain existing test suites, and craft new test scripts from scratch.
• Hands-on experience using C# or Typescript with to interact with and test web applications.
• A solid understanding of Agile/SDLC methodologies and functional/non-functional testing, with a healthy awareness of white-box and security testing fundamentals.
• Experience analysing requirements, defining comprehensive test coverage, and a proactive approach to identifying, tracking, and triaging defects.
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while actively contributing to technical discussions, sharing knowledge, and learning efficiently across new project domains.
