Job Description
We are seeking a brand new QA Engineer, who will be responsible for ensuring the quality of software products and systems through the development and execution of software testing plans and cases. You will work closely with software developers and project managers to identify, prioritize, and resolve quality issues.
*** This is a hybrid position - you will work 3 days a week from our Winnersh office. ***
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
1. Developing and executing test plans and cases to ensure the quality of software products and systems.
2. Working closely with software developers to ensure that quality issues are identified, prioritized, and resolved in a timely manner.
3. Collaborating with project managers to ensure that testing efforts are aligned with project timelines and goals.
4. Documenting and reporting defects, and working with developers to ensure that they are resolved.
5. Continuously evaluating and improving the testing process to ensure that it is efficient and effective.
6. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in software testing, and implement new tools and techniques as appropriate.
Requirements:
1. Proficiency in various testing types (e.g., integration, acceptance, and performance).
2. Experience writing and executing automated test cases and have experience with an automation framework (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, or Appium).
3. A background in evaluating test coverage, identify gaps, and suggest improvements to increase test effectiveness.
4. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and can integrate tests to support continuous integration efforts. (e.g. Github actions)
5. Experience performing API testing using tools of the trade (e.g., Postman, JMeter, or REST-assured) and verify that they meet acceptance criteria.
6. Ownership of testing for specific features, ensuring they meet quality standards.
7. Some expertise in mentoring more junior QA Engineers would be advantageous.
8. An understanding of system architecture and project goals.
