Job description

Aflac is building the specialist capability required to move AI from experimentation into scaled business impact. These roles will help transform customer and employee experiences, strengthen our enterprise AI, cloud and data foundations, and embed AI throughout the software development lifecycle so our teams can deliver better solutions faster, safely and responsibly.

We are looking for a talented Quality Engineer to join one of our high-performing engineering teams. Our teams are responsible for delivering innovative solutions across web, mobile, cloud, low-code and AI-enabled platforms, all designed to improve outcomes and experiences for our policyholders.

This is not a traditional testing role. You will champion quality across the entire software development lifecycle, helping teams build quality into products from discovery and planning through to production. You will combine hands-on testing expertise with modern quality engineering practices, AI-assisted tooling, automation, observability, and coaching to drive higher levels of quality, reliability, and delivery confidence.

As Aflac continues to adopt AI-enabled engineering and intelligent software solutions, you will play a key role in defining how quality is engineered into both traditional and AI-powered systems. This includes helping teams validate complex workflows, evaluate non-deterministic behaviours, establish appropriate guardrails, and ensure AI-enabled solutions are reliable, safe, observable, and compliant with enterprise standards.

You will act as a quality advocate and technical leader, using AI as a force multiplier to improve testing effectiveness, accelerate feedback cycles, and increase engineering productivity. Equally important, you will help teams develop a culture of shared quality ownership by coaching engineers to build quality into solutions from the outset through better requirements, stronger automation, effective testing strategies, and data-driven decision making.

Working closely with Product Owners, Engineers, Architects, Security, and Support teams, you will help define quality strategies, testing approaches, evaluation frameworks, and engineering standards that enable teams to deliver secure, resilient, and customer-focused solutions at scale.

Role context

You will be a quality advocate and technical partner for Product Owners, Engineers, Architects, Security and Support teams. You will help define testing approaches, automation, quality measures and engineering standards that give teams confidence in what they release.

As Aflac uses more AI-assisted engineering and intelligent software, you will help teams test AI-enabled features in practical, responsible ways.
