Job summary

Client Server Limited is seeking a Software Engineer / Developer (Python SQL) for a London-based role with substantial bonus potential. You will help build a modern medallion architecture data platform, spanning data engineering, distributed systems, infrastructure and frontend tasks.

The role emphasizes ownership in a small, collaborative team, with a hands-on approach and the opportunity to work across the full development lifecycle. London office, full-time.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience with Python.
• Experience with financial or market data.
• Experience designing and operating data-intensive, distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of relational, NoSQL and columnar databases.
• Ownership mindset across full development lifecycle.
• Collaborative with stakeholder management skills.
• STEM degree 2.1 or above, MSc likely.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data platform components using Python.
• Develop and optimise ETL pipelines, Data Lakes/Lakehouses and distributed systems.
• Improve infrastructure, observability and CI/CD practices.
• Maintain and evolve existing systems (microservices, ETL, Excel add-ins).
• Support platform operations, ensuring reliability and performance.
