Job summary

We’re working with a fintech company to build and evolve a scalable backend platform used by investment management firms for automated reporting and client communications. You’ll join a small, collaborative engineering team and influence architecture and the product direction from design to production.

The role focuses on greenfield features as well as enhancing an established platform, with ownership from early design through deployment and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building backend applications with Python.
• Experience designing scalable APIs and SaaS platforms.
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Experience with Agile development teams.

As part of a small, highly collaborative engineering team, you'll have genuine influence over architecture, technical direction and product development. This is an opportunity to work on greenfield features as well as enhance an established platform, taking ownership from design through to production.

What you'll be doing

• Designing, building and maintaining scalable backend applications in Python

We're looking for someone with

• Strong commercial experience developing applications in Python
• Experience building scalable backend applications and APIs
• Experience working on SaaS or product-focused platforms
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms
• A collaborative approach and a passion for writing clean, maintainable code
• Experience working within Agile engineering teams

Nice to have

• FastAPI or Flask
• Experience within fintech or financial services
• Exposure to AI or machine learning integrations
