Python Full Stack Desk Applications Developer

The Desk Developer role, based in London, UK, involves:

• Enhancing Automation: Modernizing automation by migrating existing Excel-based workflows into Python.
• Rapid Prototyping: Collaborating directly with operations and commercial teams to build and support market-focused analytical tools, iterating based on user feedback.
• Project Management: Analyzing business and user requirements and managing project lifecycles end-to-end.
• Innovation: Proposing technical solutions to improve processes or explore new opportunities.
• Team Upskilling: Assisting in upskilling the desk on Python and ensuring critical scripts are production-ready.
• Platform Expertise and Integration: Developing deep understanding of Vitol's MIS platforms and tools.
• Process Optimization: Working with IT and business teams to enhance MIS processes, ensuring tools meet evolving business needs.

Minimum requirements include:

• Relevant university degree
• 3+ years of full-stack Python and React development
• Experience with Python frameworks like FastAPI, Plotly Dash / Streamlit, SQLModel & Pydantic
• Experience with data scraping and data normalization techniques
• Proficiency with relational SQL databases such as PostgreSQL
• Passion for Python and React development and staying current with community developments
• Knowledge of Typescript React is a strong plus
• Knowledge of Mantine React Components and Tanstack React Query / Tanstack Router is a plus
• Driven, results-oriented, with a keen eye for detail
• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and work independently
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Ability to collaborate across organizational and cultural boundaries
