Overview:

My client, a prominent international law firm, is seeking a skilled and proactive Pursuits & Proposals Manager to join their central business development team. This role is instrumental in supporting the firm’s most strategic global proposal efforts across all practice and industry groups.

Reporting to a Senior Manager, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the firm to deliver high-impact RFP responses and client-facing materials, as well as mentoring junior team members and ensuring the firm’s proposal processes are executed to the highest standard. This is a newly created role offering excellent autonomy and long-term growth opportunities.

The main responsibilities of the Pursuits & Proposals Manager include:

• Leading and managing the full lifecycle of complex RFPs and proposals, ensuring alignment with internal best practices.
• Developing compelling messaging and differentiators to highlight the firm’s strengths and value proposition.
• Coordinating input from stakeholders across departments and regions.
• Drafting and refining impactful proposal content.
• Supporting partners in preparing for client presentations and follow-up engagements.
• Providing line management and mentorship to junior team members.
• Managing the client feedback process, sharing insights to develop best practices.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in a similar proposals or business development role within a law firm environment.
• Strong writing and editing skills, capable of producing high-quality, client-ready content.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
• Confident communication skills, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting ideas clearly.
• The ability to quickly understand complex legal and technical concepts.
• Experience managing or mentoring junior staff.
