CDM Recruitment is working with a well-established engineering and industrial services business to recruit a Purchasing Team Leader on a fixed-term contract until Christmas 2026. Qualifications

• Experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Buying or Supply Chain.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, industrial services or a technical environment.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small Purchasing team.
• Raise and manage purchase orders for materials, equipment and services.
• Expedite supplier orders and ensure on-time delivery.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment.
• Work with engineering, operations and project teams to meet deadlines.
• Resolve purchasing queries and invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain purchasing records and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and achieve cost savings.
• Produce reports and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Leading a small purchasing team, you will be responsible for ensuring materials, equipment and services are sourced efficiently while supporting projects across the business.

• Raise and manage purchase orders for materials, equipment and services.
• Expedite supplier orders and ensure on-time delivery.

• Work closely with engineering, operations and project teams to meet deadlines.

The Person

• Previous experience within Purchasing, Procurement, Buying or Supply Chain.
• Experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial services or another technical environment.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is desirable but not essential.

What\'s on Offer

• Fixed-term contract until Christmas 2026.
• Salary up to GBP32,000
• Monday to Friday, 8:30am 4:00pm.
