We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our Christchurch, Dorset team!

As a Purchasing Manager for our Christchurch location, you will direct the activities of the buying team to maximise effectiveness, compliance, and management of the supply chain to meet the demands of the business. Support the buying team regarding the MRP requirements and make informed decisions. This will include the push out and pull in of demand driven by the planning system linked to meeting our Working Capital target.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Direct the activities of the buying team to maximise effectiveness, compliance, and management of the supply chain to meet the demands of the business.
  2. Support the buying team regarding the MRP requirements and make informed decisions, including managing demand in relation to the planning system and working capital targets.
  3. Assist with day-to-day operational tasks such as expediting orders and purchase order placement to ensure operational demand is met.
  4. Support the Bids and Tenders team for new and repeat business opportunities.
  5. Lead and support supplier negotiations as necessary.
  6. Research and develop new sources of supply to support business growth, focusing on high-quality products at competitive prices while maintaining ethical standards.
  7. Develop and support supplier relationships, focusing on growth and innovation.
  8. Establish and maintain supplier development programs and chair cross-functional Quarterly Business Review meetings with key suppliers.
  9. Assist in the selection and development of preferred suppliers and collaborative partnerships.
  10. Implement risk mitigation plans in the supply chain.

What You Bring:

  • Hold MCIPS or working towards MCIPS Level 5/6
  • Proficient with MS Office and knowledgeable in MRP systems
  • Diligent, well-organized, with strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Degree in a business-related field (engineering, business, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Purchasing Management role
  • Experience in writing Frame Agreements / Supply Agreements
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry, specifically purchasing electronic components, PCB assemblies, machining, and fabrication
