Purchasing Analyst
Location: Slough, Berkshire
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (DOE)

We’re working with a highly successful and expanding business near Slough that is seeking an experienced Purchasing Analyst to join their Procurement team. In this vital role, you will provide valuable insights on stock optimisation, supplier performance, and purchasing trends to drive profitability and efficiency across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
• Track and evaluate supplier performance, including purchase volumes, delivery lead times, and cost trends.
• Provide actionable insights to support supplier negotiations and improve procurement strategies.
• Monitor market price fluctuations and provide regular analysis to guide purchasing decisions.
• Analyse slow-moving and aged stock, recommending promotional or discount strategies to reduce surplus inventory.
• Generate weekly reports on high-demand and low-stock items to support effective inventory management.
• Analyse historical sales data to forecast future demand and optimise stock levels.
• Identify top-performing products and help shape procurement strategies accordingly.
• Evaluate purchasing margins, comparing costs to selling prices and recommending process improvements to maximise profitability.
• Prepare insightful reports and dashboards to present complex data in a clear and actionable way.
Candidate Profile:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Previous experience in procurement, purchasing analysis, or supply chain analytics.
• Strong analytical mindset with a proven track record of delivering results through data-driven recommendations.
• Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and dashboard creation).
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAGE for procurement and inventory management.
• Proficiency in data visualisation tools like Power BI or Tableau is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
