What You’ll Be Doing

As Purchasing Administrator, you’ll provide day-to-day support across a range of procurement activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring outstanding deliveries and expediting orders where required.
  • Supporting and managing Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes.
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities to reduce costs and improve value.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of preferred supplier lists.
  • Assisting with the identification and implementation of new suppliers where appropriate.
  • Maintaining accurate purchasing, supplier and procurement data and records.
  • Supporting the development, implementation and management of procurement policies and procedures.
  • Resolving queries and issues relating to orders and invoicing.
  • Supporting the resolution of supplier complaints.
  • Preparing reports and providing accurate procurement data when required.
  • Providing general administrative support to the wider Purchasing and Procurement team.
What We’re Looking For

You’ll be organised, confident managing competing priorities and comfortable working with data and systems. Accuracy is particularly important in this role, so you’ll need strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
  • Confidence working with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint and Word.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
  • An interest in procurement, purchasing and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and value.
Requirements

This is a hybrid role, however there is an expectation to be on site for a minimum of two days per week.

Qualifications

You’ll need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades A-C (or equivalent), including Maths and English.

Why join us?

You’ll be joining a supportive Procurement team where you’ll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of purchasing and supplier management while contributing to important commercial objectives.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of procurement activities and would suit someone looking to build or further develop a career within Purchasing and Procurement.
