Marchant Recruitment is seeking an experienced Medical and Welfare Assistant for a Colchester school. You will support pupil welfare, respond to illnesses, and administer first aid within school protocols.

Applicants should have prior school medical room or welfare experience, a current first-aid qualification, and a clear safeguarding understanding. An enhanced DBS check is required.

Formación

• Experience in school medical room, first aid or pupil welfare roles.
• Current first aid qualification is highly desirable and willingness to undertake training.
• Experience maintaining confidential pupil records and communicating with families.
• Calm, caring and professional approach when supporting children.
• Good organisation and ability to respond to changing situations.
• Clear understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsabilidades

• Respond to pupils who feel unwell or need assistance during the school day.
• Provide first aid within training and school procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of illness, accidents and first-aid incidents.
• Contact parents and carers following school protocols.
• Support administration and secure storage of pupil medical information.
• Ensure staff are informed of medical or welfare arrangements as needed.
• Monitor first-aid supplies and report replenishment needs.
• Escalate safeguarding concerns per school procedures.
