Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council seeks an assistant to support teachers, promote attainment, and assist with the care, health, wellbeing and safety of pupils across P1-S6. You will help create a secure and supportive classroom environment and contribute to the quality of service delivery.

The post is flexibly located within the Inverurie CSN cluster; initial placement is in the advertised location, with possible assignment elsewhere within Inverurie for individual circumstances.

Qualifications

• This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
• The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
• Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
• You will be required to provide this check.
• A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in promoting achievement and raising pupil attainment.
• Provide general support in relation to the needs of the class and individuals' care, health and wellbeing and safety.
• Be flexible in school location within the cluster and work with pupils from P1 to S6.
• Initially based in the location advertised, but may be required to work elsewhere within the Inverurie CSN.
