Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking a part-time school support worker to assist teachers in promoting achievement and raising pupil attainment. You will provide general support for class and individual needs, ensuring a safe environment across Fraserburgh CSN.

The role requires PVG scheme participation and pre-employment checks. You may be deployed to different locations within the Fraserburgh cluster while based primarily in the advertised site. Interviews are scheduled and references are required.

Qualifications

• This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
• The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
• If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outwith the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
• You will be required to provide this check.
• A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
• This post has a minimum requirement of one reference which must be your current or most recent employer.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in promoting achievement and raising pupil attainment, and provide general support relating to the needs of the class and individuals' care, health and wellbeing and safety.
• Be flexible in school location within the cluster and work with pupils from P1 - S6.
• Commit to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
• Initially based in the advertised location, with potential to work elsewhere within Fraserburgh CSN.
• Work pattern: Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings.
