Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a dedicated Education Support Worker to assist pupils with additional support needs across school settings. You will help pupils access education, support care and wellbeing, and contribute to day-to-day school operations under the guidance of the leadership team.

Responsibilities include providing personal care, administering medications, supporting learning interventions, and helping with transitions between activities and classes.

Qualifications

• Provide 1-1 support to pupils with additional support needs.
• Assist with daily routines, mobility and core activities.
• Administer prescribed medications as required and maintain paperwork.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development through evidence-based strategies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure pupil health, safety and welfare; report concerns to staff.
• Supervise and assist pupils in daily activities and learning tasks.
• Provide personal care including feeding, toileting, dressing with safety and dignity.
• Move and handle pupils as trained to support mobility and independence.
• Attend reviews and support planning meetings as designated by leadership.
