Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant for Cramond Primary School. The role is part-time (27.5 hours per week) across 39 weeks of the school session, with a pro-rata salary of £26,806–£27,032.

You will work within the Pupil Support Team, supporting pupils with additional support needs, assisting in day-to-day school operations, providing personal care where needed, and helping to create a safe, inclusive learning environment in collaboration with teaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional support needs to access education.
• Assist in the day-to-day operation of the school, as directed by the leadership team.
• Provide personal care to children with additional support needs and encourage independence.
• Administer medication and complete related paperwork in line with training procedures.
• Support pupil mobility as defined by moving and handling training.
• Assist in transition programmes for pupils moving schools and supervise play in the playground.
• Contribute to records and attend meetings as designated by the school leadership team.
• Work with senior staff and visiting specialists to implement support strategies.
• Promote positive relationships and emotional wellbeing using evidence-based approaches.
