Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is advertising a Pupil Support Assistant (Fixed Term) based at St Teresa's Primary School in the St Joseph's College Cluster. The role covers 27.5 hours per week during term-time (39 weeks per year) and runs until July 2027.

You will build trusting relationships with children, support participation in lessons, promote independence, and help learners with additional support needs to reach their potential. A PVG scheme check is required.

Qualifications

• Educated to SCQF Level 4 or equivalent, including Numeracy and Literacy.
• Experience of working with children and/or young people.
• Willingness to undertake training as part of induction and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people with additional support needs to help them reach their full potential.
• Help pupils participate in lessons and develop independence, including personal care where needed.
• Create a safe, welcoming learning environment and work within Learning Centres or mainstream classes.
