The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking two Pupil Support Assistants at Frogston Primary School on a fixed-term basis until 29 June 2027. The role supports pupils with additional support needs to access education and meet their care and wellbeing needs.

You will join the Pupil Support Team, working flexibly under school leadership to contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment. PVG checks apply; unconditional offers depend on pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

• Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required after UK travel in the last 5 years.

Salary: £26,806 - £27,032 (pro rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 25 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Frogston Primary School is seeking two kind, empathetic and resilient Pupil Support Assistants to join our talented Pupil Support Team.

The successful candidates will work collaboratively as a member of a team. They will support pupils with additional support needs to access education and have their care and wellbeing needs met. They will be flexible and provide support and assistance in the day-to-day operation of the school, as directed by the school leadership team. The support needs of children or young people may include social, emotional and behavioural needs requiring provision of support for dysregulated behaviour.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. Anunconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
