City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting a Pupil Support Assistant for Oxgangs Primary School in Edinburgh. The post offers a pro rata salary of £26,806–£27,032 for 27.5 hours per week across 39 weeks per year.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, with a solution‑focused and nurturing approach, aiming to improve outcomes for identified individuals. PVG scheme checks and overseas criminal record checks may be required; flexible working is welcomed.

Hours: 27.5 per week, 39 weeks per year

Oxgangs Primary School is a non-denominational school serving the Colinton Mains, Craiglockhart and Firrhill areas of South Edinburgh. Since April 2005 we have been located in new premises built under the PPP scheme. The school has a current roll of around 350 children organised into 13 classes.
We require a Pupil Support Assistant to work across the school. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with a solution focused and nurturing approach and a genuine desire to improve outcomes for identified individuals in our school.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. Anunconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
