Job summary

Fife Council in Scotland is seeking a committed Pupil Support Assistant (2) to help children and young people reach their potential. You will work under a teacher or senior staff to support learners identified as needing extra help, both individually and in groups.

The role requires PVG scheme membership, SSSC registration within six months, and relevant qualifications at SCQF level 4-6, plus good IT skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills enabling teamwork and positive outcomes.
• Experience of supporting young people with additional support needs.
• Ability to obtain PVG scheme membership and register with SSSC within 6 months.
• Fully IT literate with basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually or in class or small groups in identified areas of learning and personal development.
• Contribute information to update planning and review process for individual pupils.
• Supervise pupil/child self-administration of medication and provide personal care as trained.
• Assist with mobility and support during activities as required.
• Support specialist programmes (speech and language, physiotherapy, OT) as directed.
