Job summary

Fife Council in Kirkcaldy is seeking a dedicated Pupil Support Assistant (2) to help pupils with additional support needs, under supervision of a teacher. You will support individuals or small groups, assist with personal care and run programmes from visiting specialists.

Candidates must have PVG, register with SSSC within six months, complete PRTL during registration, and hold SCQF Level 4+ or equivalent; strong IT skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• PVG scheme membership required
• Must register with SSSC within 6 months of taking up employment
• Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) during the registration period
• Good IT skills would support effective delivery of learning and development activities

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually, in class, or in small groups.
• Supervise self-administration of medication and provide personal care.
• Contribute information to planning and review for individual pupils.
• Carry out support programmes from visiting specialists (SLT, physiotherapy, OT).
• Assist pupil mobility and handling for low-level needs when required.
