Job summary

East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant (PSA) Complex Needs Grade 5 to support pupils at Woodland View School. You will aid pupils with additional support needs, assist with moving and handling, first aid, and help manage medications where required.

The role involves supervising individuals or groups and addressing complex behavioural needs while building positive relationships with the children. A childcare qualification is desirable, and PVG/Disclosure checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience with children and young people with additional support needs.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with pupils.
• Knowledge of signing or Makaton is advantageous.
• A relevant childcare qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex health/medical needs and assistance with moving and handling.
• Assist in administering medications and respond to medical emergencies when needed.
• Supervise individual pupils or groups and address complex behavioural needs.
• Provide first aid where required and support overall pupil welfare.
