Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Health Care Support Worker at Elms Bank Special School & College. You will support children and young people with complex needs to access learning in a caring, safe environment.

Under supervision of qualified nurses, you will deliver key clinical care, medicines administration and observations, and collaborate with families, education staff and therapists to meet individual health requirements and promote wellbeing.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or Level 2 functional skills.

Responsibilities

• HCSW duties supporting the Special Schools Nursing Team to promote the holistic health care and well-being of pupils aged 11–19 years by supporting planned programmes of care and reducing disruption to education.
• Deliver key clinical care interventions, including medicines administration and clinical observations.
• Collaborate with Parents/Carers, Education staff and Allied Health professionals to meet individual health needs and promote wellbeing.
