Westray Recruitment Consultants Ltd is seeking a time-served fitter/engineer to service, repair, and overhaul pumps and rotating equipment from a Aberdeen-based site with a Durham location. This permanent role offers a structured service department, overtime opportunities, and a strong focus on quality workmanship.

You will diagnose faults, work to deadlines, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues while delivering high standards of customer service.

Qualifications

• Time-served fitter or engineer with relevant industry experience.
• Proven background in servicing, assembly and repair of pumps and rotating equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible approach to work with willingness to support overtime when needed.
• Team player with good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of rotating equipment, with a primary focus on pumps.
• Diagnose faults and identify root causes of equipment issues to support effective repairs.
• Work to agreed deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Ensure all tasks are completed in line with company procedures and relevant industry standards.
• Assist in compiling detailed service and inspection reports for customers.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
• Contribute to a busy service department handling a wide range of equipment from a global customer base.
• Participate in team-based and cross-functional activities as required.
