Job summary

Market 36 Recruitment is seeking a Pump & Mechanical Service Engineer for a permanent role in Harlow. You will service, maintain, and repair a range of industrial pumps, motors, fans and rotating equipment on customer sites.

This field role requires diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, replacing bearings and seals, and working at height or in confined spaces when needed. The job offers overtime opportunities and a salary aligned to experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with industrial pumps and mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of pumps, motors, inverters and electrical systems.
• Experience with mechanical maintenance and repairs.
• Experience replacing bearings and mechanical seals.
• Confident working on customer sites and liaising with customer representatives.

Responsibilities

• Carry out service, maintenance and repair of pumps and mechanical equipment.
• Work on pumps, motors, fans and rotating equipment.

• Replace complete pump and mechanical units when required.
• Service pumping stations and sewage pumping stations.
• Lift pumps and equipment for inspection and maintenance.
• Clear debris from pumping stations and ensure equipment operates correctly.
• Test float switches and control gear.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
• Work directly on customer sites and liaise with customer representatives.
• Work at height and in confined spaces where required.

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Pump & Mechanical Service Engineer on behalf of our client based in Harlow on a Permanent basis.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Carry out service, maintenance and repair of a variety of industrial pumps and mechanical equipment.
• Work on pumps, motors, fans and other types of rotating equipment.
• Carry out bearing and mechanical seal replacements.
• Replace complete pump and mechanical equipment units where required.
• Service and maintain pumping stations, including sewage pumping stations.
• Safely lift pumps and associated equipment for inspection and maintenance.
• Clear debris from pumping stations and ensure equipment is operating correctly.
• Check and test float switches and associated control gear.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
• Work directly on customer sites and liaise professionally with customer representatives.
• Carry out work at height and within confined spaces where required.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience working with industrial pumps and mechanical equipment.
• Good knowledge of pumps, motors, inverters and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electrical panels and controls.
• Experience carrying out mechanical maintenance and repairs.
• Experience replacing bearings and mechanical seals.
• Confident working on customer sites and dealing directly with customer representatives.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Willingness to work at height and within confined spaces where required. Training can be provided.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Reliable, professional and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Overtime and call-out opportunities available at premium rates
• Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Overtime
