Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Pump Engineer to join a regional specialist engineering and maintenance business in Maidstone and surrounding areas. The role covers servicing, maintenance, and repair of pumping equipment across customer sites.

The ideal candidate has pump or pumping system experience, strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, and a willingness to travel locally. A driving licence and the ability to work on-call are preferred.

Qualifications

• Field service or maintenance background recommended.
• Ability to participate in on-call rota and travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing pumps and associated equipment.
• Work on wastewater and surface water pumping systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults to restore function.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on sites.
• Inspect equipment and infrastructure for reliability and safety.
• Attend breakdowns and emergency call-outs as required.
• Identify faults and complete repairs efficiently across sites.
• Work independently while coordinating with customers.

We are recruiting on behalf of an established specialist engineering and maintenance business looking to add an experienced Pump Engineer to its field-based team.

The company provides a range of engineering, maintenance and infrastructure services to commercial and domestic customers across the region and has built a strong reputation for delivering reliable technical support.

The Role

As a Pump Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a variety of pumping equipment across customer sites.

• Servicing and maintaining pumps and associated equipment
• Working on wastewater and surface water pumping systems
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
• Inspecting equipment and associated infrastructure
• Attending breakdowns and emergency call-outs when required
• Identifying faults and completing repairs efficiently
• Working independently across customer sitesCompleting work safely and to a high standard

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with previous experience working with pumps, pumping equipment or associated mechanical and electrical systems.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous pump engineering or maintenance experience
• Good mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience within a field service or maintenance environment
• A proactive and reliable approach to work
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota
• Flexibility to travel throughout the local region
• Full UK driving licence
