Job summary

The Sofidel Group in Baglan, Neath Port Talbot, is seeking a manufacturing operative to feed the pulpers according to the loading sheet and safety guidelines.

You will handle pulp loading, operate conveyors and plant equipment, monitor quality and environmental standards, and maintain daily housekeeping. Training will cover safety guidelines and machine operation, with opportunities for professional growth within the international Sofidel Group.

Responsibilities

• Feed bales of pulp / converting broke, de-wire (pulp unit and single bale) and load onto conveyor in line with loading schedule and stock system entries
• Be familiar with the functioning and automation of referent plant equipment
• Operate the de-wiring conveyor, pulper feed conveyors and steel wire baler
• Identify potential contaminants in bales and isolate
• Complete routine checks on equipment and installation and report faults
• Operate equipment in accordance with training guidelines
• Maintain the equipment guaranteeing daily functioning in line with work instructions
• Assist with operation and cleaning of the paper machine as required and trained
• Comply with defined standards for quality, environment and Health and Safety
• Maintain high level of housekeeping of the working area
• Ensure health & safety rules are adhered to

PURPOSE

Feed the pulpers according to the daily loading sheet in compliance with the working instructions and the safety guide lines.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pick bales of pulp / converting broke, de-wire (pulp unit and single bale) and load onto conveyor in line with specified loading schedule, entering details into stock management system
• Be familiar with the functioning and automation of referent plant equipment
• Operate the de-wiring conveyor, pulper feed conveyors and steel wire baler
• Identify potential contaminants in bales and isolate
• Complete routine checks on equipment and installation in the working area and report any faults identified
• Operate equipment in accordance with training guidelines
• Maintain the equipment guaranteeing the daily functioning in line with the work instructions
• Assist with the operation and cleaning of the paper machine if required, including all tasks where trained
• Comply with all defined standards for quality, environment and Health and Safety
• To ensure a high level of housekeeping of the working area is maintained throughout the shift
• To ensure health & safety rules are adhered to
