Overall purpose of the job:

Exponential-e is seeking a Public Sector Solutions Consultant to support the Public Sector Sales Team. The role involves creating customer-facing solutions, supporting internal requirements across technologies with a focus on Wide Area Networks and Network Connectivity designs. The candidate should have good Telecoms/Solution design knowledge, experience with Public Sector clients, and be able to provide pre-sales solutions support for complex projects including managed services, network, voice, or cloud solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Engage with the Public Sector Sales Team early in the opportunity cycle
  • Qualify new opportunities technically and commercially
  • Attend customer meetings and present to stakeholders
  • Define solutions and create design artifacts (Network Diagrams, Solution Descriptions, Bill of Materials)
  • Participate in customer conference calls
  • Design and develop innovative solutions, leading virtual teams when needed
  • Support the sales team with input on commercial aspects like BOM, dependencies, and risks
  • Respond to tenders (RFI/RFP) collaboratively with the bid team
  • Act as a technical contact within existing accounts
  • Collaborate with solutions design and engineering teams to validate designs

Knowledge and experience required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 4-5 years of IT/Telecoms experience
  • Experience in pre-sales environment with confident technical communication
  • Understanding of Public Sector procurement practices and frameworks
  • Strong presentation skills and commercial acumen
  • Proven technical design and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of VPLS, MPLS, IP Networking, Routing Protocols, BGP, VRRP, IGRP
  • Juniper SRX and EX series experience
  • Cisco technology experience
  • Additional desirable skills: secure Internet solutions design, LAN/Wireless environments, Cloud architecture, government networks (e.g., N3, HSCN, PSN, JANET), documentation skills, enterprise architecture methods (e.g., TOGAF)
