Job summary

Mitie is recruiting Security Officers to support DWP security across several sites in the region. The role offers a structured weekday pattern with predictable hours and a competitive hourly rate, plus a range of employee benefits designed to support wellbeing and financial security.

The mobile regional role covers a group of DWP sites across North Lincolnshire, the Humber area and the Lincolnshire Coast, including Grimsby. Travel between sites is expected as part of the job.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience required.
• SIA licence required; Door Supervisor licence preferred.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
• Professional, calm and confident approach when dealing with incidents.
• Good communication skills and strong customer service mindset.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and doing the right thing.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for DWP colleagues, visitors and property.
• Carry out regular patrols and routine security checks to identify and manage potential risks.
• Respond professionally and effectively to emergencies, incidents or suspicious activity.
• Provide a high standard of customer service, offering reassurance and support where required.
• Liaise with emergency services, local law enforcement and the Mitie Communication Centre when needed.
• Complete accurate notebook entries and incident reports following any incident or security concern.
• Follow Mitie and DWP policies, procedures and site instructions at all times.
