Job summary

A well-established Higher Education institution in Falkirk is seeking an experienced Public Sector Procurement professional to head up its procurement team. The role covers Estates, Facilities Management, ICT and Professional Services, delivering end-to-end procurement from tender through to contract management.

You will lead a small team providing guidance, mentoring and practical procurement advice to stakeholders while ensuring compliance with Scottish and UK procurement legislation and

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Scottish/UK procurement legislation
• Experience managing regulated tender processes
• Contract negotiation and management experience
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Good commercial awareness and analytical ability
• CIPS membership or working towards this would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end tendering and procurement activity across a range of categories
• Develop category strategies and manage supplier relationships
• Manage contract negotiation, implementation and ongoing contract management
• Provide procurement advice and guidance to stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with Scottish and UK procurement legislation
• Contribute to sustainable and socially responsible procurement initiatives
• Work closely with colleagues and wider sector procurement groups
