Job summary

Guidant Global is seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator to join the Employee Services team in Exeter. You will manage multiple payrolls, ensure timely processing, and provide expert payroll guidance across schools and public sector bodies.

The role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to meet strict monthly deadlines while ensuring compliance with legislation and organisational policies.

Qualifications

• Extensive payroll experience in a busy environment.
• Solid knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC rules.
• Experience with iTrent or similar HR/payroll systems.
• Proven ability to work to strict monthly deadlines.
• Strong customer service and helpdesk skills.
• Experience supporting payroll testing and system upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll data across multiple payrolls accurately.
• Prepare and run monthly payrolls to deadlines.
• Handle changes including TUPE, restructures and market moves.
• Perform complex payroll calculations and adjustments.
• Ensure FPS, payslips, P45s and HMRC submissions are correct.
• Provide payroll advice to staff, managers and external bodies.
• Support UAT for payroll system developments and upgrades.
• Train and mentor new payroll team members.
• Maintain payroll calendars and organisational structures.
