Job summary

DWF is seeking an experienced Legal Director to lead our Government and Public Sector practice in the UK. You will own complex matters, manage key client relationships and guide the strategic direction of the practice, with a hybrid working pattern across regional offices including Leeds.

The role requires a qualified solicitor with substantial public law and procurement experience, capable of mentoring junior lawyers and delivering commercially focused advice to public and private sector

Qualifications

Qualified solicitor with significant experience advising on public law and commercial matters including grant funding and subsidies.
Experience in public procurement, grant funding arrangements and Subsidy Control law.
Strong drafting and negotiation skills with client‑facing confidence.
Proven ability to build long‑term client relationships and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

Advise public and private sector organisations on procurement, contracts and grant funding matters.
Draft, review and advise on complex contracts and funding agreements.
Develop long‑term client relationships and cross‑team collaboration.
Mentor junior lawyers and support their development.
Support business development and expand client relationships.
