DWF is recruiting an experienced Legal Director for the Government and Public Sector practice. You will lead complex public procurement, grant funding matters and Subsidy Control, advising government departments, local authorities and private bodies.

Based in one of our regional offices (Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham) with a flexible hybrid working arrangement, you will own key client relationships, mentor junior lawyers and shape the strategic direction of the practice.

Qualifications

• Significant experience advising on public law and commercial issues including grant funding, grant programmes and Subsidy Control.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills with delivery-focused mindset.
• Experience advising both government and private sector organisations on procurement.
• Ability to manage client relationships and contribute to business development.

Responsabilités

• Advise public and private sector organisations on public procurement, grant funding and Subsidy Control compliance.
• Draft, review and advise on complex contracts and funding agreements.
• Develop long-term client relationships and cross-team collaboration.
• Collaborate with national colleagues across the firm’s Commercial and Public Sector teams.
• Support business development and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Manage a varied caseload with competing deadlines and high service standards.
• Keep up-to-date with developments in public procurement law and Subsidy Control.
• Provide high-quality, commercially-focused legal advice.
• Mentor junior lawyers and support their development.
