Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council's Legal Services team is recruiting dynamic lawyers to support Adult Social Care, Children's Social Care, Commercial Contracts, Criminal, Education, Highways and Planning. You'll manage a varied caseload, provide practical legal advice, draft documents and appear at hearings when needed.

You must be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with relevant local government experience.

Strong technical legal knowledge.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience managing a varied caseload.

Responsibilities

Manage a complex and varied legal caseload.
Provide clear, practical and solution-focused legal advice.
Draft and negotiate legal documentation.
Represent the Council at hearings, tribunals, meetings and court proceedings where appropriate.
Advise officers, senior managers and elected Members.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement and professional excellence within Legal Services.
