Job summary

Capgemini is seeking an Interaction Designer to translate user needs into accessible, iterative designs for UK public sector projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to embed user-centred practices in fast-paced environments and champion inclusive services that meet GDS standards.

You will design interfaces, flows and prototypes, facilitate workshops, and communicate insights to stakeholders while supporting agile delivery and cross-team collaboration within Capgemini.

Qualifications

• Experience with GDS service standards or equivalent enterprise design standards.
• Proven user-centred interaction design methods in complex tech programmes.
• Strong analytical thinking, process skills, verbal and written communication.
• Grounding in user-centred design from concept to final delivery.
• Ability to work with agile teams and bring along delivery teams.
• Collaborate with architects to ensure data and technical considerations are designed.
• Experience synthesising insights and acting on outcomes with design colleagues.
• Experience presenting designs with evidence-based justification.
• Capability to create artefacts like flows, journeys, maps and wireframes.
• Experience building rapid paper and digital prototypes, including code-based prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Design and present concepts and user interfaces with annotations for IA, navigation and flows.
• Identify user needs through interviews and translate stories into user-focused design approaches.
• Create accessible and impactful products and services and present research findings.
• Collaborate with product, business and tech teams to embed user-centred practices.
• Support rapid Agile delivery and resolve design-centric disputes when needed.
• Contribute to the wider XD community and Capgemini initiatives.
