Job summary

GTC Recruitment is seeking an experienced HR Advisor for a high-profile public-sector organisation at Porton Down, Salisbury, on an initial 12-month contract.

The role covers first and second-line HR support, employee relations, policy guidance, recruitment coordination, onboarding and HR reporting, with a focus on compliance and stakeholder management.

Applicants must hold active SC clearance, be a sole UK national, and be able to work 3 days per week on site; Inside IR35 applies.

Qualifications

• 1st and 2nd line HR support experience
• Strong employee relations experience especially disciplinaries and grievances
• Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR policies
• Experience using HR information systems (HRIS)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally
• Proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement
• CIPD membership/qualification or equivalent HR experience

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line HR advice and guidance
• Support managers and staff with HR policies, lifecycle queries and leave
• Advise on disciplinary, grievance and employee relations matters
• Act as escalation point for complex HR issues
• Maintain accurate HR records and documentation
• Use HRIS to manage records and processes
• Prepare HR reports and management information
• Assist recruitment, job descriptions, interviews and onboarding
• Support Learning & Development and employee engagement initiatives
• Collaborate with stakeholders on organisational change and HR projects
