Job summary

Grant Thornton UK LLP is seeking an Assistant Manager in Public Sector Assurance - Growth Services in Birmingham. You will support the design and delivery of data-driven and digitally enabled services for public sector clients, contributing to growth and the development of new market propositions.

You will collaborate with delivery teams, engage stakeholders and use analytics to inform decisions while helping with proposals, market scanning and business development activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a relevant role such as consulting, product or service development, business development, public sector delivery, financial services, or a related field.
• A background in assurance, finance or audit can be valuable, but is not essential.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to develop clear materials and engage stakeholders.
• Experience using digital and productivity tools to analyse information and present insights, including PowerPoint and Excel, with openness to AI-enabled tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across delivery, product development and growth activities.

Responsibilities

• Help deliver outcomes for public sector clients by designing and delivering people-centred, data-driven services.
• Work across Local Government, Health, Central Government and related bodies within a growth team.
• Support development of new market propositions and service offerings.
• Contribute to business development, including proposals, pipelines and market scanning.
• Support market engagement and origination through thought leadership and client interactions.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to translate challenges into practical solutions.
• Use data and market trends to inform decision-making and improve offerings.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, partners and client stakeholders.
• Take ownership of high-quality deliverables with strong organisation and communication.
• Contribute to a collaborative and entrepreneurial team culture and practice development initiatives.
