Job summary

The Government Recruitment Service is recruiting a Data Analyst for the Insolvency Service in Birmingham. You will collect, organise and analyse data to provide business insight, turning complex data into clear, evidence-based decisions for senior leaders across the agency.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Statistics, you will help build data capability, automate data flows and develop visualisations with Power BI, R and the Azure Data Platform to support operational delivery and policy

Qualifications

• Strong data analysis and statistics skills.
• Ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
• Experience creating data visualisations and dashboards for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Produce the agency's official statistics in line with the Code of Practice for Statistics.
• Create regular performance reports and dashboards with evidence-based data stories.
• Apply analytical techniques (exploratory data analysis, descriptive stats, time series, correlations) to identify trends.
• Work with qualitative and quantitative data, ensuring high-quality analysis.
• Collaborate with digital/analytical teams to deliver insights.
• Improve processes and systems following the Aqua Book and Analysis Function Standards.
