Job summary

TLT LLP in the UK is recruiting a Senior/Managing Associate to join the Public Sector Contracts and Procurement team. The role is for a qualified solicitor with at least 6 years' PQE, focusing on commercial contracts and public procurement, based in Manchester or Birmingham with hybrid working.

You will advise central government clients, draft and review ITTs, specs and notices, and support procurement strategies, with opportunities for business development and mentoring junior lawyers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years PQE as a solicitor in public sector procurement
• Strong understanding of UK public procurement law including Procurement Act 2023
• Experience drafting ITTs, specifications and notices
• Familiarity with FOI obligations and anti-bribery legislation
• Experience with various tendering procedures (open, restricted, negotiated, dialogue)
• Knowledge of procurement portals Jaggaer and Proactis
• Ability to draft, review and manage contracts, framework agreements and call-off arrangements
• Excellent drafting, communication and organisational skills

Responsibilities

• Manage broad procurements/contracts for local authorities and government bodies
• Advise on procurement strategy and draft key documents
• Support procurement litigators in challenges
• Negotiate tendering procedures
• Draft, review and manage contracts, framework agreements and call-off arrangements
• Collaborate with multi-office teams to meet deadlines
• Mentor trainees and apprentices
• Work with Partners on long-term strategy and development
• Support business development and client training
