Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Solutions Architect I for the UK public sector to partner with customers, design and deliver cloud-based solutions, and translate business goals into well-architected technical designs.

You will work across teams to understand customer pain points, guide modernization, and build reusable architectures while navigating public sector procurement and compliance. This role combines hands-on design with stakeholder engagement to unlock AWS adoption and impact.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• 2+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
• Experience working with public sector organizations (government, education, healthcare, nonprofit).
• Understanding of UK public sector procurement and compliance frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud, Cyber Essentials).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical point of contact for new-to-cloud public sector customers in the UK guiding them from first workload to production.
• Conduct technical discovery sessions in English to understand customer pain points and recommend AWS-based solutions.
• Partner with Account Executives on territory planning, account prioritization, and customer engagement strategies across UK-PS and Germany-PS.
• Design and present foundational cloud architectures aligned with customer business outcomes and public sector requirements in both markets.
• Build repeatable plays and enablement assets for common customer scenarios (cost optimization, compliance, legacy migration).
• Evangelize AWS technology through workshops, proof-of-concept engagements, and technical content in English and German.
• Navigate German public sector procurement and compliance requirements alongside UK frameworks.
• Contribute to the growth of the Greenfield SA organization through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and operational best practices.
