Job summary

BardWood Support Services is hiring an Area Support Officer in Torquay. This site-based role focuses on the safety and security of staff and visitors. Day shifts, Monday to Saturday, with a flexible approach required.

You will provide relief coverage across a regional portfolio, maintain a safe environment, assist with conflict resolution, and project a confident security presence. Training is provided for first aid and incident reporting.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid SIA license.
• Full UK driving license with access to own transport.
• 5-year checkable work history.
• Prior experience in a customer-facing environment.
• Physically fit to undertake tasks.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Flexible attitude and adaptability.
• Security and operational system competence.

Responsibilities

• Provide relief cover across a portfolio of locations within a region.
• Maintain a safe environment for staff and customers.
• Provide a proactive security presence in public areas.
• Assist with conflict resolution at client premises when needed.
• Ensure compliance with site rules and guidance.
• Complete legible incident reports when incidents arise.
