Public Sector Account Executive - Central UK Government

Mimecast is expanding its UK Public Sector New Business Sales team and is seeking driven sales professionals with experience in creating new business opportunities in the UK Public Sector market via the Channel.

The Enterprise Public Sector role focuses on named opportunities in Central UK Government. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, a strong team player, with a proven track record of success in generating new business in Public Sector accounts.

A good understanding of the corporate technology stack and cloud computing will be beneficial. A strong work ethic is vital in this competitive marketplace. Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced, agile, but well-structured sales environment that is regularly reinventing itself. Account Executives will work closely with the Market Development, Partner Development, and Marketing teams, as well as our partner community, to build a pipeline of new business opportunities which they can successfully transition into new customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional who is self-motivated, collaborative, and hungry for sales success.

What You’ll Do:

  • Identify sales opportunities and strategies in assigned accounts
  • Implement strategies to sell solutions into new accounts
  • Implement strategies to sell solutions onto new state purchasing contracts and vehicles
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual new business and upsell targets
  • Collaborate with the Partner / Channel Development team to develop and execute account plans
  • Develop and execute sales activity plans to meet targets
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospects
  • Manage Business Administration, including reporting KPIs and CRM housekeeping
  • Follow and execute end-to-end sales methodologies and processes
  • Monitor and report on activities, providing relevant management information
  • Attend meetings with other company functions to perform duties and develop organizationally
  • Attend trainings to develop relevant knowledge and skills
  • Engage in weekly end-user activities
  • Track net new qualified opportunities added to the pipeline
  • Maintain forecasting accuracy

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven success in new business sales in large accounts
  • Experience and contacts within the UKI Public Sector community
  • Understanding of Public Sector contracts, cycles, and buying processes
  • Experience with new logo acquisition and customer management, exceeding quotas in fast-paced environments
  • Experience selling through Channel partners
  • Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Solid knowledge of sales processes including MEDDIC, Force Management, Challenger, and Spin Sales
