Driving Growth, Delivering Impact - Unlocking New Business for Capita Public Service

As a Business Development Manager in our Learning and Defence and National Preparedness sectors, you'll play a pivotal role in driving year-on-year profitable growth by identifying, nurturing, and closing new customer and business opportunities. You'll unlock the full potential of CPS's offerings by championing our propositions, collaborating across client groups, and strategically connecting the dots to maximise growth opportunities and deliver real impact.

This is a remote role with some limited client travel as required.

What you'll be doing :

  • Prospect, nurture open and close a portfolio of new customer / new business opportunities to deliver year on year profitable CG growth
  • Maximise the full growth opportunities for Capita Public Service (CPS) by pulling through CPS propositions and collaborating across CPS Client Groups to share potential growth opportunities
  • Developing compelling win strategies that prospect, nurture, open and close new business opportunities within the CG target- sector plan or overall GTM strategy. Primary focus of the role is new business acquisition (new logo's and new business from existing clients)
  • Driving sales performance to originate, secure and deliver a robust multi-year pipeline of new business in support of the growth strategy and plan
  • Lead qualification recommendations, through sales governance, ensuring opportunities & deal proposals adhere to commercial, operational and architectural standards
  • Demonstrate rigorous sales forecasting and management of the sales pipeline (using the full Salesforce capability) to enable accurate data-led planning, reporting & performance & risk management

What we're looking for :

  • Business Development experience - demonstrable experience of robust business development in complex market environments
  • Ability to show where you have won business of £10M TCV +
  • Experience of the Learning or Defence Services industry desirable
  • Self-starter able to work from white space to generate, influence, nurture and close opportunities
  • Operates at senior / mid-levels of Customer policy & decision-making
  • Engaging communicator, able to excite clients with compelling CPS offerings & build impactful, trusting relationships quickly
  • Demonstrates resilience and decisive, timely decision-making to close or pursue opportunities, ensuring pipeline health and efficiency to maximise sales value for CG and CPS
  • Drives & models best practise sales disciplines in business development practise, account planning, opportunity pipeline management, reporting and risk management (super-user of Salesforce)
  • Deep market understanding & insights to build credibility and trust with new and existing clients and create & deliver growth strategies that deliver value
