Job summary

inploi is seeking a Public Protection Technician in Blackpool to join the Food and Health & Safety Enforcement Team. You will conduct low risk food hygiene inspections, enforce food standards, and contribute to disease control and complaint investigations.

The role requires a degree or diploma in environmental health (or working towards) and a valid UK driving license, with a permanent contract and 37 hours per week. Salary ranges from £29,542 to £32,046 per year.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in environmental health or Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection, or working towards such qualification.
  • Experience in food law enforcement is desirable.
  • Must have a full UK driving license.

With a wide range of food businesses within the Town, this is the perfect career opportunity for the candidate to gain valuable experience in a range of enforcement actions, and enhance your professional and personal development. You will receive support, training, and supervision as required.

You will need to be enthusiastic, motivated, and diligent. You will be responsible for carrying out low risk food hygiene and food standards inspections, communicable disease control, and complaint investigations, as well as participation in health and safety initiatives. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be a great team player. You will need a full UK driving license and access to a car while at work.

The suitable candidate should have obtained a degree or diploma in environmental health, or a Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection, or be working towards obtaining such a qualification. The candidate should ideally have recent experience in food law enforcement.
