Job summary
The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) Chesterfield Health District seeks an experienced Public Health Nurse (PHN). The PHN will perform nursing assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, and provide services in clinics, homes, schools, and other community settings within the Chesterfield Health District.
Role includes cross-training into other nursing programs such as family planning, maternity, STI, and TB, with occasional travel within the district and possible evenings or
Qualifications
- RN licensure in Virginia or a compact state with eligibility to obtain license within required timeframe.
- Current BLS certification and knowledge of safety policies.
- Ability to communicate clearly, assess patients, and prioritize care in varied settings.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments, develop and implement care plans, and administer medications.
- Provide care across clinics, homes, schools, and other community settings within the Chesterfield Health District.
- Cross-train into other nursing programs such as family planning, maternity, STI, and TB; participate in public health emergencies and community health assessments.
