Job summary

RBH Hospitality Management, owner of AC Hotel Glasgow, is seeking a Public Area Cleaner to join our hotel team. You will maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all public areas, supporting a welcoming guest experience in line with our high standards.

Ideal candidates have prior cleaning or housekeeping experience, an eye for detail, and good communication. This full-time, on-site role offers flexible working, staff benefits and career progression within RBH Hospitality Management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and presentation of all public areas (lobbies, corridors, restrooms, elevators).
• Perform regular cleaning tasks (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing).
• Restock supplies in restrooms and public spaces.
• Respond to guest requests with a warm, professional attitude.
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Assist in event setup to welcome guests.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PUBLIC AREA CLEANER AT OUR HOTEL

• Maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and presentation of all public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and elevators, ensuring they are inviting and meet high standards.
• Performing regular cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces to keep all areas spotless and hygienic.
• Monitoring and restocking supplies like toiletries, towels, and sanitizers in restrooms and other public spaces.
• Responding promptly to guest requests for assistance or cleaning needs in public areas, providing excellent customer service and a warm, professional attitude.
• Reporting any maintenance issues, hazards, or equipment needs to the supervisor to ensure a safe and well-functioning environment.
• Assisting in setting up for events and special occasions, ensuring public spaces are prepared and welcoming for all guests.

What We Need From You

• Prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping roles
• An eye for detail and a commitment to high cleanliness standards, ensuring all public spaces are immaculate and inviting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage professionally and courteously with guests and team members.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage time efficiently to complete tasks on schedule.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving supplies as needed.
• A proactive attitude towards safety and the willingness to follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment.
