Job description

The National Gallery is pleased to offer an exciting new opportunity for a Public Affairs Manager within its Communications Department. This newly established role will support the Gallery’s growing strategic engagement with key stakeholders, following the success of its Bicentenary celebrations. Reporting to the Head of Communications and working closely with the Senior Public Affairs Manager, the postholder will support the delivery of an active and high-profile engagement programme with Members of Parliament, government officials, civic leaders, and other public representatives.

The role will be instrumental in ensuring that the Gallery's activities are understood across Government and positively represented within political and civic spheres, helping to support its mission, funding, and outreach ambitions. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in public affairs, politics, or a related field, with a strong understanding of political processes and stakeholder engagement. They will bring existing networks, sound judgement, and excellent communication skills to help build new relationships, sustain existing partnerships, and support the long-term legacy of the Gallery’s Bicentenary.
