Job summary

Pertemps Thames Water in Reading is seeking a Local Engagement Manager to lead stakeholder outreach across London. This hybrid, full-time role involves coordinating responses, developing political relationships, and advising senior leaders.

You’ll support AMP8 investment communications and manage incident-related updates for key meetings. The role requires extensive stakeholder engagement experience, strong communication, and the ability to operate in a regulated water context.

Qualifications

• Significant experience engaging with stakeholders, particularly within local government.
• Experience advising colleagues up to Executive level on engagement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of political structures and the regulated sector.
• Experience in communications or stakeholder engagement in water.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate responses to political stakeholder queries or casework with appropriate business units.
• Build upon existing political relationships and identify new ones.
• Advise senior leaders on stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Prepare for key public meetings to ensure stakeholders are well-informed.
• Lead follow-up communications after incidents and attend scrutiny meetings.
• Manage incoming contacts from political stakeholders across London.
• Inform political stakeholders about information campaigns with colleagues.
