Job summary

The Station House in Cheadle Hulme is looking for a hands-on Bar & Pub Manager to join the management team. You’ll lead front-of-house service, develop the team, and take real ownership of the bar and wet trade, ensuring a warm welcome, superb beer quality, and a thriving guest experience.

We’re after someone with solid pub experience, a passion for cask ales, and the confidence to coach staff, manage busy shifts, and spot opportunities to grow wet sales during key trading periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in a quality pub or bar environment.
• Good knowledge of cask ale, beer, and cellar operations.
• Confidence running busy bar shifts and managing service.
• Natural front-of-house presence and guest engagement.
• Ability to coach others and raise bar standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent bar, beer, and cellar standards.
• Ensure quality and consistency of every drink served.
• Support cellar management, stock rotation, and line-cleaning.
• Build knowledge around cask ale and wider drinks range.
• Coach the team to deliver knowledgeable, friendly bar service.
• Get to know regulars and foster a strong pub community.
• Spot opportunities to grow wet sales during key trading periods.
• Lead busy shifts and support the wider management team.
• Maintain high standards across the pub.
• Bring ideas, energy, and real passion for pubs.
